Notepad++ is a free and open-source text and source code editor that is available for Windows OS. Currently, it is not available for Linux or Mac OS.
Generally, we install other editors just because of its features like autocomplete, beautiful syntax colors and much more, which saves a lot of time during writing long codes and also prevents us from doing silly mistakes that make programming very complicated.

So let's get started by downloading the installer package file.
Step 1: Download the latest version of notepad++ from their official site https://notepad-plus-plus.org/downloads/
At the time of writing the latest one is 7.8.5
Select your OS bit version and hit download.
I don't know how to check the OS bit version.

Step 2: After downloading the file run it on your Windows PC.
Step 3: Installing the software.
Select your language and hit ok

Now read all the terms and conditions and select I agree if you're happy with it.

Step 4: Select the desired location where notepad++ is going to be installed

If you wish to customize plugins then do it and hit next, I'll recommend to keep it default, and move to next.

Step 5: Hit install and wait till the installation gets over.

Now, Installation is completed. Click finish and run Notepad++

Now start coding in various languages or use this as a simple text editor it will work well in everything.
